Workshops in GIS and GPS

Please fill in the information below to sign up for a workshop. All workshops are offered on a first come first served basis, using the sign up sheet below. If a workshop fills up, additional sessions will be scheduled.

Both workshops offer hands-on experience using either Geographic Information Systems (GIS;computerized mapping and statistics) or Global Positoning Systems (GPS).

The GIS sessions will convene in the computer lab on the third floor of the Casey Academic Center. You will be able to create a map of the local region using GIS.

If you sign up for the GPS workshop, you will be taught how to use a handheld GPS unit and participate in a scavenger hunt on the Washington College campus for prizes. Please wear appropriate footwear and clothing to be outside. The workshop will be rescheduled in case of inclement weather. The GPS workshops will meet in the meditation garden.
